Precision health for the Middle East and the journey of care and cure

Dr. Iyabo-Tinubu Karch, CEO, Sidra Medicine, Qatar

Sidra Medicine, a women’s and children’s hospital in the State of Qatar, is built upon the philosophy that personalized and precision care, should play a prominent role in every patient’s journey. By integrating research into every patient’s journey of care and cure, Sidra Medicine aims to make precision medicine a standard of care.

Having identified a number of critical areas in pediatric health related to rare and genetic diseases, it is seeking to expand treatment options and redefining what is possible in pediatric medicine. Its approach to precision health embodies its commitment towards advancing pediatric healthcare and pioneering treatment protocols and therapies for the benefit of its patients and their families.

The hospital is also advancing its women’s health and wellness remit across integrated research programs particularly in reproductive medicine, maternal child health and internal medicine. Its goal is to use targeted tools and therapies to deliver the best care for women in this region.

Heavily investing in its people, technologies and R&D, the hospital is on a pathway to establishing a strong, clinically oriented biomedical research program, and developing a national resource of genomic information that improves health in Qatar and the region.
