Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (IKMIB) takes an active part in international organizations to sustain the professional ethics and cohesion of Turkish export companies in the chemicals industry. It helps increase export levels, diversify export products, improve competitiveness, defend its members’ rights and interests, form strong international relationships, and access new markets since 1991. IKMIB efficiently and successfully represents the Turkish chemical sector with support from the Ministry of Trade and Turkish Exporters Assembly both in Turkey and globally.

In the chemical industry, with its 16 sub-sectors such as plastics, cosmetics, medicals and pharmaceuticals, rubber, and paint, IKMIB significantly contributes to the Turkish economy and export activities. It also adds value to the country by supplying raw materials for various sectors such as automotive, textile, and food.

The national participation fairs, sectoral trade, and buyer missions organized by IKMIB play a vital role for chemical exporters in reaching new markets. IKMIB actively supports companies operating in the health sector, including pharmaceuticals, medical, and dental products. It organizes national participation fairs such as Arab Health, Medica, and AEEDC, which are prominent in the health sector. Additionally, it undertakes cluster projects in pharmaceutical and health sectors, sectoral trade missions to Far-East, South America, and Africa, and buyer missions during important domestic fairs. Pharmaceutical and medical committee meetings offer opportunities to evaluate sector-specific problems and solutions. Workshops organized by IKMIB foster collaboration among sector partners.
