Information

What is Purified water? It is water free from ions through different processes of de-ionization such as Reverse Osmosis Babies need purity. Water in its natural form H2O is very rare as water usually contains other element, ions and salts such as sodium, potassium and carbonates. Water may also contain micro-organisms such as bacteria and fungi. These elements which can be found in normal tap and mineralized water are not visible and can’t be seen with naked eyes and have no risk on the health of adult but could carry high risks on the sensitive bodies of our babies. During the first few months of a baby’s life he/she gets the needed amount of water from the mother’s milk but the water used for the preparation of antibiotics or baby food should have specific characteristics in order to not overload the baby’s young kidneys. Why we need to use purified water?  To reduce the intake of elements and salts and not overload the baby’s body with these elements  Purified water is free of sodium which reduces the risk of high blood pressure in the future  It is free from hazardous elements such as nitrates and micro-organisms which could carry different risks on the baby’s health  Purified water enhances the dissolved drug’s pharmacokinetics (Elimination – Metabolism -Distribution – Absorption)  As the purified water is free from different elements it prevents the precipitation of the dissolved drugs and so its uni-dose is preserved  Boiling tap water is not effective as boiling only is not enough to remove different ions and micro-organisms and if hot water is added to the antibiotic powder it will lead to the breaking of the chemical bonds of the drug and the antibiotic will be ineffective.  Mineral water is not effective as well as it contains high percentage of elements and minerals.
