UNICA was born from the engineering imagination of a closeknit team of physicists, engineers and surgeons with the aim of providing light on the operating field while suppressing all forms of direct and indirect glare. UNICA is a double reflection LED operating theatre light and it is thanks to this technology that two clear technical advantages can be achieved: - The maximisation of the light emission surface area, - The elimination of direct glare. Besides presenting itself as a competitive product given its technical characteristics, UNICA, thanks to its double reflection technology that eliminates glare, is a safer solution for the patient and the medical team.

The transition from repair workshop to production facility took place in the 1940s, when Mr. Palmino Longoni decided to give shape to a product of his own. Since then, RIMSA began focusing closely on the surgical lighting sector . A milestone in our long history has been in 2002, when RIMSA became the first in the world to develop and patent the first LED scialytic lamp when the technology was still in its infancy. Furthermore, in 2017, RIMSA pioneered the medical research by developing the world's first surgical light without glare, "UNICA”. Having specialized in medical lamps for 86 years, we still put "uniqueness" at the center of our organization, backed with a determination and passion for research and innovation in our products. Today Rimsa is a dynamic manufacturer of surgical lighting involved in all the processes of the product development and manufacturing. Our products are distributed in more than 90 countries in the world.
