RIMSA, established by Palmino Longoni in 1936, was initially a mechanical workshop dedicated to repairing typewriters and the like; hence the acronym R.I.M.S.A.
The transition from repair workshop to production facility took place in the 1940s, when Mr. Palmino Longoni decided to give shape to a product of his own. Since then, RIMSA began focusing closely on the surgical lighting sector .
A milestone in our long history has been in 2002, when RIMSA became the first in the world to develop and patent the first LED scialytic lamp when the technology was still in its infancy. Furthermore, in 2017, RIMSA pioneered the medical research by developing the world's first surgical light without glare, "UNICA”.
Having specialized in medical lamps for 86 years, we still put "uniqueness" at the center of our organization, backed with a determination and passion for research and innovation in our products.
Today Rimsa is a dynamic manufacturer of surgical lighting involved in all the processes of the product development and manufacturing.
Our products are distributed in more than 90 countries in the world.
